Although there is not a magic fairy dust that can be sprinkled over recently engaged couples in giving them supernatural wedding knowledge, there is something that comes close to that- Bridal Shows. Thousands of engaged couples have been scurrying to most recently discovered- Bridal Shows. Bridal Shows or Bridal Fairs, are a collaboration of different wedding vendors under one roof or a centralized location. These events are essentially conventions for brides and grooms, where they can talk to photographers, florists, wedding cake bakers, musicians, caterers, videographers, among many others. This event provides a space for engaged couples to learn about the different and endless possibilities for their wedding. These events are especially great because couples have a chance to speak with wedding professionals, and see, touch and taste their work. Many times wedding professionals have a calendar ready to book couples for their wedding date, and many times they have incentives for booking at the bridal show/fairs, such as a discount or a free bridal gift. Most bridal shows have bridal fashion shows, where they showcase trendy bridal gowns, bridesmaid, and flower girl dresses, as well as the most up-to-date men's formalwear. Many bridal shows also have door prizes, and raffle off wedding goodies for both brides and grooms. These bridal events range in size from 30-200 plus exhibitor booths. Bridal shows usually take place on the weekends, with Sunday being the more popular day, and January through March and August through October being the most popular months.
Some Tips On Bridal Shows/Fairs
Do your research. If you are curious in attending a bridal show contact the company that is hosting it and ask for the names of participating wedding vendors. If possible get each wedding vendor's website address and learn more about them. If there is a specific vendor's work you are particularly fond of make it a point to have a conversation with them the day of the bridal show.
If you have the funds, have a check book handy. Many wedding vendors are available to book their services the day of the bridal show/fair and offer discounts and gifts to couples who do so.
* Wear comfortable shoes.
* Find out the cover charge (if any) and also inquire about parking.
* Avoid bringing children and baby strollers.
* Bring a shoulder bag to collect wedding literature, demo samples, and other fee goodies.
* Before attending the show make a list of the wedding services you need, and an estimated budget for each of them.
* Bring picture collections of centerpieces, hairdos, menus, etc. that you are fond of for your wedding.
* Show these to wedding vendors to give them an idea of your taste and style.
* Bring a camera (preferably digital). There will be many floral, cake, and table display ideas, among many others.
* Before attending the bridal show create a wedding email address you can put on the registration form, give to wedding vendors, and use for other wedding purposes.
* Bring preprinted labels with your contact information, such as; name, address, phone number, email address and wedding date. This will avoid your hand and wrist to hurt at the end of the day (there will be many door and raffle prizes and you will probably want to enter).
